El Yunque National Rain Forest Tour

Flat Fee: $325.00 Up to 5 Passengers
$375.00 6 to 10

The El Yunque National Rain Forest will allow you to experience one of the most beautiful spots on the island. El Yunque covers 28,000 acres and reaches an elevation of 3,526 feet. The best-known sites of La Coca Falls and the Yocahu Observation Tower provide an abundance of photo opportunities of dramatic waterfalls cascading down mossy cliffs and sweeping unobstructed views of the tree canopy and surrounding mountains.

Named after the benevolent Indian spirit Yuquiyu, El Yunque is the only rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System. Comprised of some 240 different species of trees, it is actually a series of forests, each one determined by its altitude.

More than 100 billion gallons of precipitation fall each year, creating the jungle-like ambience of lush foliage, sparkling leaves, shining wet rocks, and shadowy paths occasionally pierced by sunlight. Spectacular waterfalls rush alongside its well-maintained (but slippery) trails. There are many favorite spots for visitors to take photos or a refreshing dip in the pristine pools.

After enjoying nature, you will head to Luquillo Beach for a 2-hour stay. Here you can shade yourself under the many coconut palms or wade into the calm northeastern coastal waters of Puerto Rico. At your convenience, visit the popular Luquillo kiosks for some uniquely local Puerto Rican cuisine including alcapurrias and bacalaitos fritters and other local favorites; the cost of lunch is not included in the cost of the tour.
